Shirley Rae Proudfoot Miller 1935-2022 Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Rae Proudfoot Miller, 86, a resident of Junior, departed this life Saturday evening, Feb. 19, 2022, in the Mountain Living Community Assisted Care Facility at Belington. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born June 6, 1935, at Junior, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Truman Ellison and Virginia Hope Moore Proudfoot. On July 22, 195,1 at Oakland, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Earl Junior Miller, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2010.
She is survived by six children, David Miller and wife, Sue, of Elkins, Michael Miller, Larry Miller, Gary Miller and wife, Nancy, Janis Zambelli and Susan Strawder and husband, Steve, all of Junior. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren, Amelia Cupp and husband, Harry, Melissa Bennett and husband, JR, Brad Miller and wife, Jessica, Jennifer Bunnell and husband, Todd, Jessa Strawder, Joshua Strawder, Kristen Strawder, Isaac Miller, Jonah Miller, Jordon Miller, Danny Bismark and wife, Anita, Nancy Lantz and David Foy; a special nephew, Steven Rexrode and companion, Gina Taylor; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a whole host of friends also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Lea Rexrode; and one brother, Duane Richard Proudfoot. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Shirley attended the schools of Barbour County and was Methodist by faith. She was formerly employed by Riedboard Brothers and was former owner of the Quick Stop convenience store in Junior for many years.
Shirley loved to read and was a member of the Philippi Eastern Star Chapter 41. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg St in Belington on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor John Welch officiating. Interment will follow in the Knights of the Pythias Cemetery near Junior.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, face masks are recommended while paying your respects in the funeral home.
