Sylvia B. Riggs, 66, a resident of Dailey, where she had made her home with her son, Terry Hosey, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at 9:05 a.m. at her residence. She had been in her usual health and death was sudden and unexpected.
She was born May 12, 1936, at Dailey, a daughter of the late Elijah and Nora Barb Riggs.
She is survived by her only child a son, Terry Hosey of Dailey; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman Riggs and wife Geraldine, of Mill Creek; one sister-in-law, Freda Riggs of Dailey; one special cousin, Junior Barb of Mill Creek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were three brothers, Willie, Oliver and Archie Riggs.
She had formerly been employed at Nella’s Nursing Home and at Sissie’s Restaurant. She also took care of the elderly people for several years in the Dailey community. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the latter Day Saints.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home today after 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner Chapel Tuesday at 11 a.m. Bishop Lynn Muhlestein and Elder Virgil Bennett of the Church of the Latter Day Saints will officiate. Interment will follow in Elkins Memorial Gardens, formerly the IOOF Cemetery at Elkins.
