The process of building a Tapped Coil Crystal Radio
Tapped Coil Crystal Radio Build Article from Popular Electronics Oct 1989
So, After my first Simple Crystal Radio, I was looking for a second Crystal Radio to expand my experiments with their operation. I selected a tapped coil crystal radio for my next project, It give more options for tuning, and it has a little bit of that steampunk look to it
I wanted to continue my experiments with Crystal Radio with a design that used a different design, Building this Taped Coil design added a new design element, a tapped coil that allowed for the coil length to be varied across a limited number of values, with the values being determined by the placement of the taps. More taps, more possible values
With 8 tap points, there should be 16 possible values with this tapped coil design, I was very much looking forward to building this set to experiment with the tapped coil to determine how it affect the operation of the crystal set
