Terry Paul Bender 1949-2021 Obituary
Terry Paul Bender, age 72, of Beverage Knob Road, Crawford, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at his home. He was born on February 17, 1949, at Goshen, a son of the late Paul Ernest Bender and Alma Hamner Bender McCray, who survives. On November 28, 1998, he was united in marriage to Diana L. Lane Bender, who also survives. In addition to his mother and wife, he is also survived by three sons: Tony Bender and wife Drema of Walkersville, Craig Bender and wife Trudy of Rock Cave, and Philip Bender and wife Tammy of Rock Cave; one daughter Laura and husband Sonny Chidester of Canaan; two stepdaughters: Jeana Carpenter and companion Aaron Facemire of Summersville and Joanie and husband Don Hoge of French Creek; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers: Johnny McCray of Colorado and Marty McCray and wife Lorie of Adrian; four sisters: Sue Harris of Buckhannon, Kay and husband Dickie Putman of Florida, Carla and husband Chuck Canfield of Buckhannon, and Gaila and husband Jim Smith of French Creek; several close friends; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one son Chris Bender, one grandson Keith Chidester, and one sister Donna Bender.
Terry was an avid outdoorsman, but especially enjoyed fishing and going to his buddy Mike Wimer’s fish camp in Ohio.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Goshen Cemetery, where Pastor David Jessie will officiate.
