Texie Lawrence 1904-2001 Obituary
Texie Lawrence, 97, of Dry Fork, died Nov. 30 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas.
She was born March 21, 1904 in Dry fork, a daughter of the late Claudius and Elizabeth “Doll” Cooper Wolford. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan Lawrence.
Surviviors include a foster sister, Grace Pennington of Stringtown and a niece, Roseanne Allen of San Francisco, CA.
Three brothers also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Larence was a school teacher in Tucker County Schools for over 30 years, was a member of the WV Retired Teachers Assoc., Farm Bureau, Flanagan Hill Senior Citizens and was affiliated with the Red Creek Bethel Church of the Brethren in Laneville.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, at Red Creek Bethel Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Joe Mininger officiating.
Interment followed in the Buena Cemetery, Canaan Valley.
