Thelma Agnes Rutherford Waybright 1938-2016 Obituary
Thelma Agnes Waybright, age 78 years, a resident of Whitmer, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born November 28, 1938 in Elkins a daughter of the late Wayne Rutherford and the late Emma Miller Rutherford.
On Nov. 18, 1971 at Oakland, MD she was married to Danny Waybright who survives at Whitmer.
Also surviving is one daughter, Kellie VanMeter, Whitmer; one brother, Warren Rutherford, Coalton, WV; three sisters, Emma Myers, Monterville, WV, Margaret Lindsay, Durbin, WV and Patty Arbogast of Monterville, WV.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Alyssa VanMeter and Macey Hedrick.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Denver, Robert and Hoy Rutherford and a sister, Lila Hinkle.
Thelma attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed as a cook at Phil’s Restaurant, the Lamplight Restaurant and later for Davis and Elkins College.
She also was employed by Goldberg’s in Elkins, Canaan Valley and Perdue Farms.
Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
On Friday, she will be moved to the Whitmer Church of God for visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am the funeral hour.
Pastor Steve Bailey and Pastor Jim Purnell will officiate and interment will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery near Whitmer.
