Thomas Dayton Bennett Sr., 47, of Elkins, died Thursday evening, Feb. 21, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown from injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier this month.
He was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Elkins, the son of Mary Jane Bennett, who survives at Dartmoor, and the late Coleman Bennett.
On Sept. 13, 1976, he married to former Brenda Sue Zambelli, who survives in Elkins.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Dayton Bennett Jr. and wife, Michele, Bowden, Joshua Seth Bennett, at home; one daughter, Christal Bennett Pennington and husband, Benny, Beverly; five grandchildren, Kayla, Alexis and Rachel Bennett, and Talladega “Charlie” and Dacie Pennington; three brothers, Rick Bennett, Mill Creek, Albert Bennett, Harrisonburg, Va., and Jody Shreve, Dartmoor; four sisters, Patty Lewis, Beverly, Connie Isenhart, Harrisonburg, Va., Lucy Ford, Fairmont, and Donna Bennett, Dartmoor; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bennett attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed by Bob’s Painting of Beverly.
He was a coach in the Elkins Little League and was a Protestant by faith.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until noon. Mr. Bennett will then be moved to the Weaver Church of the Nazarene for visitation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Beverly Cemetery.
