Thomas G. Rosier, 63, a former resident of Elkins, and a resident of Broaddus Long Term Care Facility for the past four weeks, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at 12:20 a.m. Death was attributed to cancer.
Before becoming a resident of the Long Term Care Facility, he had made his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Wesley Gibson. Also, he had two very special grandsons, that helped in his care taking, Timothy and Jeremy Ward, while residing with his daughter and son-in-law.
He was born Jan. 11, 1939, in Randolph County, a son of the late Arthur and Lena Leary Rosier.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Gibson and husband, Wesley, of Elkins; one stepdaughter, Linda Blaus and husband, Richard, of Pennsylvania; one stepson, Terry Pennington of Delaware; one sister, Marie Hartman of Ohio; two brothers, Wayne Rosier and wife, Nancy, of Elkins, and Junior Collett, address unknown; two grandsons, Timothy and Jeremy Ward of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Jewel Hayes and Cindy Foster, both of Elkins, and a special nephew, Sam Rosier of Elkins.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three sisters, Madeline Gochenour, Katherine Helmick and Joy Dowling; and five brothers, Sonny Rosier, Dale Collett, Frank Geary, June Rosier and Roy Rosier.
Mr. Rosier was a former janitor at the Elkins City Hall, the Elkins Recreational Center and the Kingsford Charcoal Plant. He retired from Colonial Mill Works in maintenance. He was a Protestant by faith.
At the request of the deceased his remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. from the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bryan Headley of the Silent Grove Church in Philippi will officiate.
