Thurman Drain 1926-2003 Obituary
Thurman Drain, 76, a former resident of Gateway Apartments and a resident of Fairmont for the past three years where he made his home with his daughter, Sandra Sidwell, passed away Friday, April 11, 2003, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1926, in Lumberport, he was the son of the late Thurman Blaine and Lillian Frances Drain.
He was united in marriage to the former Frances Meadows Tincher, who preceded him in death in 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana Lee Wolfe of Fairview, and Sandra Lee Sidwell of Fairmont; four sons, Robert Drain of Elkins, Douglas Allen Drain of Virginia, Ernest Gail Drain of Georgia, and Jeffrey Bryan Drain of Fairmont; one sister, Mary Swiger of Lumberport; and one stepdaughter, Lois Jean Stump of Pennsylvania.
Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were one daughter, Mary Francis Dellastritto; three sons, Thurman Richard Drain, Thurman Bernard Drain and James Keith Drain; and four brothers, Clovis Drain, Clarence Drain, Carl Drain and Paul Drain.
Thurman was a former dozer operator, a taxi-cab operator and a coal miner until becoming disabled.
He was Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the F.E. Runner Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral hour.
The Rev. Jonas Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Lumberport.
