Vicki Rae Smith Tyre, age 61 years, a resident of the Georgetown Road, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born March 19, 1959 in Elkins a daughter of the late Carlyle Ray Smith and Shirley Jean Swecker Stalnaker who survives. On March 8, 1997 at Weaver, WV, she was married to Keith Tyre who survives. Also surviving is one son, Eric Ray and his wife, Ashley Shreve of Elkins; two brothers, Carl Robert and his wife, Saba Smith and Ricky Allen Smith both of Houston, TX; two sisters, Sandra Kay and her husband, Timothy Miller and Carolyn Sue and her husband, Brian Miller both of Elkins and three grandchildren, Hunter, Cole, and Madyson. Vicki attended the schools of Randolph County and was employed by Bruce Hardwood at the time of her illness. Vicki enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike House officiating. Social distancing and masks will be required for anyone attending Vicki’s services. Interment will follow in the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Vicki Rae Smith Tyre.
