Virginia “Genny” Davis, 72, a resident of Route 1, Independence community, Philippi, passed away at 11:04 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, in Broaddus Hospital Long Term Care.
She was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Kanawha County, a daughter of the late Tom Jr. and Cora Kennedy Green.
She was united in marriage on June 7, 1947, to Enoch S. Davis, who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1994.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas W. and wife, Connie L. Davis, Lynn R. and wife, Rhonda Davis, and Frank L. and wife, Diana Davis, all of Route 1, Philippi; three sisters, Leatrice Hodge, Chesapeake, Erma Perry, Belle, and June Hawkins, South Charleston; two brothers, Tommy Browning, Acme, and Bill Green, South Charleston; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Billie; one grandson, Craig Davis; and one sister.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Church of Christ.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 6 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Evangelist R.D. Ice officiating. Interment will follow in Barbour Memorial Cemetery.
