Virginia M. Corley -2003 Obituary
Virginia Marie Corley, 86, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of 14 Green St., Buckhannon, departed this life at the Sentara Bayside Hospital in Virginia Beach.
She was born in Upshur County, the eldest daughter of the late Herbert and Virgie Loudin Gladwell. She was the loving wife of Carl E. Corley for more than 44 years prior to his death. A sister, Madaline Cogar preceded her in death.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Charles Ray of Virginia Beach, Va., with whom she resided; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl E. Jr. and Suzanne Corley, also of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Shirley and Roscoe Rexrode of Rock Cave, Olene and Ralph Lowe of Clarksville, Tenn., and Lovena Hibbs of Buckhannon; five grandchildren and spouses, Robin Trimble and husband, Miller, Robert Ray and wife, Kimberly, of Virginia Beach, Va., James Ray and wife, Laura, of Palmyra, Pa., Bryan Corely and wife, Keady, of Jane Lew, and Scott Corley and wife of West Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Christopher Sprague, Sean Ray, Marianne Trimble and Leah Trimble of Virginia Beach, Madison Ray of Palmyra, Pa., and Brandon Corley of Jane Lew. She is also survived by one uncle, Rex Loudin of Buckhannon.
Mrs. Corley was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Methodist Women, Sarah Circle and friendship class. She attended Haygood United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends in Buckhannon and Virginia Beach.
Friends will be received Tuesday at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on 95 S. Kanawha St. in Buckhannon from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Services for Mrs. Corley will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will be made in the Heavner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
