Virginia A. Rosencrance Yokum, 100, a lifelong resident of Randolph County having lived in Dailey and for the past four years, a resident of Colonial Place in Elkins, passed from this life January 8, 2015, at the Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Elkins. Virginia was born Wednesday, January 14, 1914 at Elkwater, a daughter of the late J.M. “Mart” Rosencrance and Alice Wilson Riggleman Jones Rosencrance. On December 22, 1930 in Elkins, she was married to Frank K. Yokum who preceded her in death in 1971. Surviving Virginia is her son, Olan K. Yokum and wife, Colleen of Rockaway Beach, MO, her daughter, Phyllis Daniels of Beverly, five grandchildren, Connie Yokum of Texas, Debra Yokum of Missouri, Darian Daniels and wife, Angela of Beverly, Crystal Daniels Carrier and husband, Eddie of Ona, Kimberly Daniels Davidson of Bridgeport, a special friend whom she loved like a daughter, Nancy Bruffy of Beverly, ten great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by two brothers, Darley Rosencrance and Walter Riggleman, and five sisters, Alice Forinash, Ethel See, Ona Shimer, Dora Lowther, and Eva Crouch. Virginia attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Valley Bend Presbyterian Church where she taught the adult Sunday School Class for many years and was a member of the Session where she held several offices. She was a life time member of the Farm Women’s Club, later known as the CEOS, where she was very active and held many offices. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 11AM until 1PM, the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery in Huttonsville.
