WARREN JOSEPH “JOE” SWEARINGEN, age 73 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV, departed this life Friday morning, August 6, 2010 at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center at Elkins.
He was born on Monday August 31, 1936 at Hambleton, WV, a son of the late Lenza Dow Swearingen and Emma Elizabeth Degler Swearingen.
Surviving are two brothers, Brenton Van Swearingen of TX, Jack Don Swearingen of Parsons; one sister, Mary A. Martin of Willowick, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are two brothers, Fred Clair Swearingen and Robert Wayne Swearingen and one infant sister.
He attended the Hamrick School. He was a construction worker for many years and he was an avid outdoorsman.
A memorial service will be held at The Hambleton United Methodist Church on Sunday morning, August 8, 2010 during church services. Rev. Loren Metzner will officiate.
