Wayne Davis Bohon 1937-2020 Obituary
With much anticipation and excitement, Wayne Davis Bohon, 83, of Bridgeport, passed through the door to the mysteries of life and onto the other side on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born on May 29, 1937, in Elkins, the son of Davis H. and Leafy White Bohon.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Norma M. Williams Bohon.
He was also preceded in death by his companion of 18 years, Marian Kelly.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Chapman and her husband, John, Cindy S. Casten and her husband, Tim, Joni Bohon Hollaran and her husband, Richard and Sarah Jones; 13 grandchildren, one special great,grandson, Carder Jones and also several great-grandchildren and one sister, Nancy Reppart.
Wayne was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a Navy Veteran serving at sea.
He also attended several trade schools and colleges. He was owner and operator of Bohon Refrigeration but completed his working career at CNG.
He belonged to the American Legion, Moose, Elks, Civil Air Patrol, Bridgeport Masonic Lodge and Philippi Lions Club.
In addition, he also volunteered at UHC and taught 55 alive driving classes for AARP for many years.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 4 – 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 1 p.m., with Pastor John Paul Williams presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
