With much anticipation and excitement, Wayne Davis Bohon, 83, of Bridgeport, passed through the door to the mysteries of life and onto the other side on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, at his home.
He was born on May 29, 1937, in Elkins, the son of Davis H. and Leafy White Bohon.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Norma M. Williams Bohon. He was also preceded in death by his companion of 18 years, Marian Kelly.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Chapman and her husband John of Johnstown and Cindy S. Casten and her husband Tim of Virginia, Joni Bohon Hollaran and her husband Richard of Tampa, Florida, and Sarah Jones of Bridgeport; 13 grandchildren and one special great grandson, Carder Jones and also several great grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Reppart of Canton, Ohio.
Wayne was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a Navy veteran serving at sea. He also attended several trade schools and colleges. He was owner and operator of Bohon Refrigeration but completed his working career at CNG. He belonged to the American Legion, Moose, Elks, Civil Air Patrol, Bridgeport Masonic Lodge and Philippi Lions Club. In addition, he also volunteered at UHC and taught 55 Alive driving classes for AARP for many years.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave. in Bridgeport on Monday, Nov. 9, from 4 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Paul Williams presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
