Wilbur Earl Grose, 85, of Route 2, Box 199, French Creek, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in Arbors of Fairmont in Fairmont.
Mr. Grose was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Sago, a son of the late Willie Wilbur and Iva Ours Grose.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ford (Ruth) Boyles and Mrs. Virgil (Nancy) Greenleaf, all of French Creek; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Curtis Grose; and a sister, Sarah Mildred Grose.
Mr. Grose was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army with the 926th Signal Battalion, serving in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a member of Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and Frank B. Bartlett Post 7, American Legion.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nancy Killingsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Upshur County Memorial Park. Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and Frank B. Bartlett Post 7, American Legion will conduct military honors at the graveside.
