OBITUARY: WILDA MARGARET DAWSON Wilda Margaret Dawson, 86, of Philippi, died Sunday, February 21, at the home of Mrs. Linda Kennedy, at Rt. #1, Flemington, following an extended illness. She was born July 23, 1923, near Philippi, a daughter of the late William Martin Stalnaker and the late Viola Ethel (Bennett) Stalnaker. Survivors include several cousins, including, Lara and Jake Lawrence and their son, Matthew, Philippi, who have been her care-givers, since 2001 and Mrs. Kennedy, in whose home she had resided for the past year. Mrs. Dawson was a graduate of Philippi High School and attended the W.Va. Business College. She was a homemaker and farmer. She had attended the Little Bethel Baptist Church and the Midway Apostolic Church and was baptized into the Light of Christ Chapel in Belington and considered Light of Christ her home church. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 22,at the Central Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Tallman will officiate. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
