William Coy Scott, 85, of 9 Gum St., Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
Mr. Scott was born May 13, 1916, in Ten Mile, a son of the late William H. and Cora Potts Scott.
On Dec. 28, 1941, he married Virginia Wilfong Scott, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Agnes Casto, Parkersburg; and a brother, Vorris Scott, Orlando.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Vonda Poling, Vera Swick and Mabel Teets.
Mr. Scott was a diesel mechanic for Craig Motor. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force
He attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Saturday, she will be moved to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Gary Stackpole officiating. Interment will follow at Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
