Willis B. Tenney, age 92, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home. He was born April 3, 1919 in Hemlock, WV, a son of the late Conard and Florence Scott Tenney. On October 3, 1937 he married Jocie (Tenney) Tenney who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Betty Jo Spencer of Buckhannon, Shirley “Toots” Cutlip and husband Tom of Buckhannon and Brenda Sue Gillespie and husband Tommy of Buckhannon; two sons, Elmer Tenney and wife Carolyn of Buckhannon and Marvin “Buck” Tenney and wife Shirley of Buckhannon; grandson, Thomas “TC” Cutlip and wife Billie and son Anthony of Buckhannon; granddaughter, Kelly Davis and husband Jonathan and daughter Michaela Reger of Buckhannon, granddaughter, Robin Nesbitt and husband David and daughter Ashton Ackerman of Buckhannon, granddaughter, Carrie Tenney and husband Marshall and children Emily and Brett of Buckhannon, grandson, Todd Cutlip and wife Lisa and children Kirstie and Robert Todd of Buckhannon, granddaughter, Rhonda Hollen and husband Cody and children Hayden and Sidney of Buckhannon; two brothers, Basil “Chick” Tenney of Hemlock, WV and Dayton Tenney of Buckhannon Run Road, WV and two sisters, Kathleen “Poochie” Tenney of Buckhannon and Zelma “Deck” Currence of Mill Creek, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Ronald Michael Tenney; two brothers, Denly and Don Tenney and four sisters, Willa Leigh his twin sister, Mazie Currence, Irene Olenick and Creta Fern Tenney. Mr. Tenney was a member of the Lorentz United Methodist Church. He was a long time coal miner and retired from Upshur Coal in 1982. He enjoyed playing softball and pitching horse shoes. Friends will be received Friday, February 3, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorentz Cemetery at Lorentz, WV.
