Zelmia Mae Wolford Watson, age 68 years, a resident of Northfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Intensive Care Unit of the South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, OH. She was born July 27, 1944 at Coalton, a daughter of the late Hollis and Rebecca Broschart Wolford. On October 10, 1970 she was married to Alan James Watson who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Martha Ann Jones and husband William of Stow, Ohio, two sisters, Rita Joanne Mixon, Charleston, SC and Susie Jane Gaskins and husband Cohen, Alvin, SC. Three brothers, James Hollis “Bud” Wolford, Cortland, OH, Albert Kent Wolford and wife Alice, Coalton, and John Robert “Bobby” Wolford and wife Patricia of Jacksonville, AR, three grandchildren, Zachary Hollis Watson, Katie Marie Jones and Megan Rebecca Jones, two great grandchildren, Aubray Heaven McIntire and Gabriel Michael Winston and many nieces and nephews also survive. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Georgia Marie Shreves. Mrs. Watson was very active in her healthier days. She held several jobs having worked for the telephone company, J.C. Penney, Lawson’s and Wal-mart. She enjoyed being with and helping people. She volunteered for numerous organizations including the PTA having served as President at her daughter’s school; she was a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts and served as President of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6768 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved organizing many family reunions and events and reading mystery novels and doing crafts. She attended many sporting events and activities which her daughter and grandchildren participated and was their “No. 1 Fan”. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 22nd from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown.
